This pitch is accepted for presentation to a jury of investors, mentors and advisors at d10e decentralisation conference in Amsterdam at February 18th 2016.
"Congratulations! We are delighted to confirm that after the in depth review of nearly three dozen applications, you have been selected for the startup pitch during our Amsterdam event (18-Feb, Beurs van Berlage). This was an incredibly difficult pitch round and many qualified and talented startup ideas were submitted. Our judges believe that The Blockchain Incubator has incredible potential." - Tiffany Madison, organisor of d10e conferences all over the world.

The Blockchain Incubator
A place to enhance both creativity and blockchain rooted projects and businesses.
January 15 2016
It is my mission to bring futuristic innovations closer to people. And to open possibilities for innovation that people themselves invent. One of the innovations is Bitcoin, an economic and cultural trendsetting invention. Innovation itself relates to creativity and thus to art. With being close to art I try to open people up for new paths that stem from inner strength, to invent their own future.
In 2016 the existing variety of Bitcoin and Art related projects will be located together in a new physical work and event space in the city centre of Arnhem Bitcoin City. To kick start Space House I want to attract an investor. Furthermore, I'm looking for funding for our startup competition in the field of blockchain and/or the combined field of blockchain and creative industry. As I’ve argued in an earlier Bitcoin conference in Amsterdam Beurs van Berlage in may 2015, I do strongly believe both fields have so much to offer each other.
Blockchain & Creative Industry
Not only are the invention techniques sometimes related, but they can be enhanced by borrowing from each other. Cocreation will lead to both fun and useful products that our culture will not only need but enjoy as well. These products and the experiences they facilitate after all form their own culture – are our culture to be more precise. We want that to be as golden as the best fruits of cultural expression as possible – think for instance about the Dutch Golden Age of painting. On top of that, both fields of expertise share the subversive quality that brings both consciousness and wisdom – and therefore a doubled disruptive business power.
We entertain the idea that we need three steps to get a winning project:
1 small events, education, marketing and the physical startup coworking space;
2 organizing the startup competition and coaching the selected projects;
3 an actual startup investment for the winner or coupling with an investor.
Arnhem Bitcoin City attracted since February 2014 ca. 2000 visitors among which several international Bitcoin tourists. Almost 100 shops, restaurants, bars and entrepreneurs are enjoying the benefits of accepting Bitcoin. Almost twenty public events took place to learn, network and spend. The amount of entrepreneurial ideas and action is growing fast. The concept attracts people as actual new inhabitants from thousands of kilometers away.
Existing experience with Creative City coaching for blockchain and creative industry startups had successes in 2015, among which an actual coin project. Besides blockchain and other technology this program provides for a deep research for the right leadership and business roots. Coaching not being about opinions or good/bad division but about waking up in the creative business process that is in fact our USP. Getting to know custom systems, good network and investors to choose most wisely and therefore have the best chances for success.
One of the customers wrote in January 2016: “I learned how to understand and thus present my own project better.” Another leads the crypto coin project Energy Coin, that aims to be the liquid between a variety of environmental and sustainability projects and to level the values consumers own of various parameters, such as how much electricity they saved by using collective solar with the neighbors in their district. The current system looks as below, with the green Energy Coin as a tool to connect RingRing, the bicycle app, and others projects, and Goal Keeper as the intended interface (text in Dutch).
This project is a good example of the combination of real world topics and substantial societal approaches – as well as of the challenges to manage such a complex project and to program the right apps in a meaningful and efficient way to relate the blockchain to these foreign projects with their own utility and currency. Seen in the light of our future Blockchain Incubator, one might try to regroup this team with creative industry and perhaps better suitable crypto programmers, to lift the idea to a higher usability and esthetic ground, add educational games, find the best systems to surf the environmental and sustainability network, the most effective strategic action plan to find out how to reach customers and some tactics to make these processes an ongoing everyday flow that transports value with crypto and thus transforms our planet at the same time.
Bitcoin World Capital
Space House is a place close to life to collect and coach the best trendsetting entrepreneurs. Using our international network in blockchain. At the moment Arnhem Bitcoin City, world Bitcoin capital since may 2014, experiences an inflow of ideas and entrepreneurs. People already want to present their ideas. Space House will be set up as we speak to provide the right context for networking, learning and growth.
Because funding is closely related to sustainable relations with mentors and their network, I feel it is perhaps even better to ask for the possibility to start a fruitful co-creation to eventually see what could be done. Nonetheless, we formulated our:
1 marketing, education, space, events €15.000*
2 three coaching series €8.956,50 and budget for organizing competition €10.000
3 €500.000 for the best startup or coupling with an investor
Sum: €533.956,50 or €33.956,50 and a startup investment cocreation
NB All figures are part of and related to the bigger business plan of Space House.
Not your average Bitcoin Pitch
I do understand my pitch seems related to creating the best atmosphere and to add EQ to technology, more than a default tech or blockchain pitch. It is my belief that only by providing the resources to incubate blockchain in the right cultural and also locally imbedded arms, we can strife for unique and high level outcome. Luckily we can rely on our quality network of Bitcoin core related professionals locally and internationally. So please, let our vast and years long research to the roots of all combined expertises speak to both your futuristic imagination and your entrepreneurial intuition. Thanks so much in advance. – Did we mention we’re located in Bitcoin world capital Arnhem?

Milking an Unknown Ocean
Some thoughts on co-creation and value
In regards to The Blockchain Incubator
My motivation for the Blockchain Incubator pitch related to the content of it.
February 15 2016
Creative City is the title I currently use for my belief that we need to strive for a new kind of societal approach toward the crucial subjects of value and creativity, most commonly represented by money and art or Bitcoin and creative industry, or… Well, as you see, there is a variety of parallels that all bring their own associations, culture and thus world to the table. Cultural-economical projects are the new direction in which to invent new methods and sub topics for co-creation.
It’s not even particularly Bitcoin or related crypto that is my main focus, it is more the general idea of creating a new economy with real heartfelt value that lies in the core of my attention. Because cultural-economical projects are about the ability to let core values flow in prosperous directions. However lots of buzz is currently directed towards Bitcoin, the possible end of Bitcoin or the next coin. To not be restricted to such brands and open sourced ‘patents’, gives a freedom that is beneficial to co-creating in a sustainable way in yet unknown creative currencies. Just as much, ‘culture’ is not meant as a fixed set of norms but as a deep possibility to invent inherent in everyone and every society.
Breaking linguistic barriers
This is a completely new societal category. One in which creation and value flow as one. I brought it up, being eloquent enough to invent such a linguistic novelty. But also experienced enough to feel how disorienting this must be for given sectors like the creative industry or artistic sector on the one side and the financial or even Bitcoin related sector on the other side, let alone the body of entrepreneurial activities that see themselves outside of both former sectors but are in fact – in my point of view – completely drenched in both. Experienced enough, one might say, to feel how cathartic this innovation might work in our current perception settings of limitations and catastrophe.
When value and creation travel as one, a solution to many perceived stagnation can be found easily. Because it doesn’t rely on old norms and restrictions but is dependant on ones own ability to make your internal world flow freely into the shared, social experience. This is not done so often because one is internally not free of the exact barriers that one is wanting to be independent from. Thus, the painful search for freedom outside of oneself arises and gives way to many societal new forms like refusing governmental restrictions, establishing your own country and other forms of reclusiveness. As a life form and a research this is completely understandable, however when looking in the inside of peoples motivation, the core aberration is that peace can be found in a modification of form outside of oneself – thus my reference to pain.
A dream come true
It is my fifteen year long dream to be able to put my experience and uniquely created method, into action in a high ended business in which there is very precise attention for value and position, to be able to achieve the most and empower a great many people and businesses. Always having had an eye for special groups like men, women, entrepreneurs, tech professionals, artists of different genres, city inhabitants in their own habitat and living quarters, children of all ages, education systems of all levels and cultural diversity, it would mean incredibly much to me to create opportunities for them with gestures of grandeur in impact and minuscule precision in direction. A place with walls carved out of love.
Especially since the (c)overt need of many is to feel ground beneath their two feet, to have insight into where they are standing and grow from that place solely to a bigger version of themselves, without judging their potential to develop but rather enhancing it. Many people are not only disencouraged in these times of economical stress and moral disintegration, but also lack grounding within their own business situation, which is the only way to let your unique qualities bloom and build a custom work and money flow. Luckily, what I have to offer is exactly that: a creativity based integral human co-creation method that takes people holistically into account when building their own unique methods and businesses.
The bigger whole of all the aspects that I can offer people to position themselves towards that and thus grow into new co-creative momentum, is a variety of projects and coaching programs, that already exist or that is already thought out to a large degree plus the new possibilities that will be created when the accumulation of projects and programs get funded and perhaps located between some grand and celebrative real life walls.
Partner up the right way
Many times people have an idea and then they ask me to partner up for a better practice. Alas, most of the time I cannot take that opportunity, because the offered set of aspects isn’t compatible nor up to scratch. But I definitely want to be of help. Some have an artistic practice and think I might encourage that – and I do! But without carving your seat as an entrepreneur, the created art cannot be made ready to rock the world and the involved creative skills cannot be directed to creative consultancy the way is absolutely possible. Tech profs tend to have cool ideas for products that form solutions. But where is the business around it to make all aspects work – and with the needed amount of EQ? Funny thing is I found them indeed to behave a lot like artists in both their best and their worst appearances.
And then there is, for instance, leaning on solely the (potential or to be programmed) product. That could be compared with my unique, from academical research stemming and tested creativity and innovation philosophy and coaching method. It’s ready for use but without all kinds of programs to make it attractive for people to dive into it, and the selling systems to make it work financially efficient, it’s merely a waste of talent. In crypto, a comparable situation arises, when this co-creation possibility pur sang is in fact not paired up with content that consumers carry within their heart of hearts as their real life priority. And then there is the situation that most often, the programming language for ICT inventions and crypto, is not original in itself.
I did meet people inventing their own programming language, but not even having their own business up and running; having a lot of crypto yet claiming they don’t own any money and letting me pay for everything. To me, this behaviour is painful and confused, too, so it’s not very surprising I can’t work with that. We have to be eloquent enough to be able to talk about these and many more stances so that the right way to partner up becomes finally available. That’s a lot of education to do! Meanwhile giving way to the publication of books about the related topics and businesses, creating artistic projects to stimulate and entertain, offering a variety of events to participate for professionals and broader, offering consultancy solutions in the field of creativity driven, heart felt innovation et cetera.
Offering a heart standpoint
It’s just a wish from the bottom of my heart to be able to get the walls up, not merely for myself, but for all people involved – although, again, many tend to make the mistake of thinking I will provide the needed work, time or money FOR them: of course not, that would be the biggest insult to their creative power and leadership. If I in near future might be able to bring an investor to the table to set up my game even further, then other people are cordially invited to bring their contribution to the table as well. I never work with offering jobs perse, but as a stimulation for people to stand up for themselves and create their own world, too, from which we both can co-create with one another, to the degree that is appropriate for their specific goals.
Blueprint for a bigger whole
The Blockchain Incubator, the title of my pitch, is a specific part of the bigger whole. It comprises the idea to create a start up stimulation program for blockchain and creative industry businesses, as a combination or on their own. I presented a modest version of it, so it will be possible to make a start, knowing that things will have to grow organically for the best result, while at the same time having a quite strict route in mind as a blueprint towards the level where I would like to bring people and myself.
At this moment, the idea arose that it would perhaps work well to not only start working on a bigger scale more quickly but attract an investor and a financial manager for the bigger whole of all combined projects as a business. Of course, funding for the organisation for a first start-up stimulation year will be very welcome. The amount of 34.000 Euro I can work with, however I would like to recalculate the project with new found knowledge and perspective from a mentor or investor and discuss the position of this particular idea within the whole collection of projects.
Sustainability of value
Sustainability is not only topical in projects I coach and am setting up as we speak. There are projects with environmental content – and sustainability is key in building relationships as well. Even more importantly, I will need help to rethink all projects in a more sustainable financial atmosphere and to calculate how much money has to flow through it to make it a successful next – let’s say – twenty years instead of a nice two year try out. Also, specific details about what area money might best stem from and most probably go towards, are still revealing themselves as I progress.
This might sound like a funny remark for a business, as in straightforward product related economics it’s mostly selling what people want, but in an artistic environment it’s quite on the contrary I’d say: the norm is more to look for money at different places than the product. My experience with crypto economy reveals, that surprisingly new social and financial fields of influence arise when projects about and/or with crypto of all kinds, pop up when combined with the current norm for financial systems (which is still mandatory and advisable as well – think about it in a co-creative way!). After some years of researching in real life situations, and fundamental education about money and value (which is in fact not the norm to be educated about!), I feel ready to reach for the next level in these sustainability and financial story lines, full of content and context.
Opportunity to disrupt your experience
Of course, I would have never written this complimentary article to my original pitch, if I wasn’t convinced of the extreme relevancy of these kinds of thoughts for the body we speak of. Because I experienced this in the creative world I live in since twenty years, the business world I live in since ten years and not in the least the blockchain world I became an inhabitant in, two years ago – and see how many successes and failures are even possible in such a short time span! And how much that serves as a steep learning curve that can be milked to benefit the ongoing near future.
In two years I became updated on new ways of practice and thinking about entrepreneurship, tech, ICT, blockchain, singularity, innovation and related topics like legal, historical and financial aspects by listening in to many speeches of renowned national and international speakers in a series of ten to twenty conferences and meetups, coming from the working field as well as from the academic world. I tried many possible positions in relation to Bitcoin and other crypto myself, like paying, accepting, educating, coaching a crypto project, convincing stores and restaurants to participate, trying to involve rookies, partnering up with blockchain developers, creating a concept for a festival on Bitcoin and Art and trying to fund it, creating excursions in Arnhem Bitcoin City, giving lectures about my vision, receiving the nickname Bitcoin Goddess and more. I became well aware of the existing field of tension between the world of tech businesses and how they are usually organised and funded on the one side and entrepreneurship in general and in creative industry on the other side – and how to surf that area of trying to balance open source idealism and building a business that actually works by the leadership of a centrally positioned entrepreneur.
I created a conglomerate of opportunities without my business being worth serious money. Turnovers from very recent previous years can unfortunately also not be seen as success indicators. Programs are however tested and details hanging in my vortex are nonetheless very real and describable in detail – and that is my art and my fortune. My business is structured and is coached and advised professionally, although – only seemingly contradictory – deeply about the two major existing subversive forces creativity and blockchain. Not merely to disrupt markets, but in an integral movement oneself, society and the way we do business so that fruits will seamlessly wash on the shore of the yet unknown ocean.**
To love and our co-creation,
